SSI Value Proposition
Our company was started in June of 2015 in a residential house with a small budget and a vision to help bring real value to candidates and companies in the Medtech industry. With a clinical, sales, marketing & business development background, I wanted to figure out how to bring value with integrity to the process and ultimately increased efficiency. In 2017, one year after the company moved from the home office to renting office space, SSI moved again into a historic home in downtown Plainfield due to growth. In May of 2021, SSI is moving into another building with twice the space as we continue to experience significant growth.
SSI brings a variety of tools to our clients to help identify, attract, and retain the top talent in the industry. Our offer acceptance rate has averaged 91% on all searches since 22015 and 100% on Retained, Engaged and Confidential searches since 2018 to bring not only value but added efficiencies while also decreasing the chance of a mis-hire. Everyone is busy! Our process helps prevent candidates and hiring managers from wasting time doing interviews that don’t match their career interests or with candidates that don’t have the right skills and experience.
SSI has the ability to partner with client companies for Confidential and Retained Executive Search, helping grow out key areas like RA, QA, Engineering, etc. for a company moving to commercialization or in a growth stage, strategic initiatives like starting a new department, PMO or entering a new market and additionally has the unique ability to highlight and market our client’s value prop and new products through the SSI Educational Webinar Series with over 11,000 followers in the Medtech industry.

Darwin understands the key qualities that companies look for in candidates to grow market share while enhancing their positive culture and team environment. He has a clinical background of over 20 years, including 15 years of sales experience within: medical devices, diagnostics, medical distribution, and sleep therapy; 8 years in sales management success; 3 years in operations; and extensive experience in negotiations and business development before starting SSI.
He founded Shurig Solutions, Inc. in 2015; Darwin is responsible for business development, contracting, marketing, and recruiting strategy, personally responsible for over $3 Million in revenue generation, created the SSI Educational Webinar series, created the “Candidate Prep Best Practices” and leads the SSI team in daily marketing and recruiting activities.
Darwin was recently highlighted in Creative Classics book “The American Entrepreneur” published in 2020 and was listed as an MRI Top 10 Managing Partner for 2020. When Darwin is not in the office, Darwin loves sports, music, nature, charity, and spending time with his 3 children and wife, Jamie. He additionally has a serious addiction to anything with Peanut Butter!
Joshua has a passion for matching highly qualified candidates with top rated clients. He uses his 12 years of sales and recruiting experience to understand the needs of each individual while leveraging their talents to advance their careers.
Joshua is a United States Army veteran and currently serves in the Indiana Army National Guard as an Infantry Officer. In his spare time, Joshua enjoys spending time outdoors with his beautiful wife Hannah, two daughters, and two dogs. He is an Ironman triathlete and ultra-marathon finisher.
With over 20 years of experience as a client advocate and trusted business partner, Angela thrives in an environment where she helps others reach their goals. She has a background in project management, marketing, sales and management.
As the daughter of a Navy physician, her love for travel was cultivated by living various places throughout the US. In her spare time, Angela volunteers her time as the president of the local competitive swim team. Unlike her coworkers, she leaves the hobby of triathlons to her husband, Robert. She also has two beautiful daughters and two dogs.
