The Opportunity

Electronics Engineer Technician

  • Overview


    The Electronics Engineer Tech position is responsible to prototype, test and troubleshoot PCBA and wire harness assemblies.  Assist electrical engineers with design elements and provide feedback based on testing performed.

  • Responsibilities


    Prototype, analyze, test and repair electronic circuit board assemblies and modules using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, soldering, and de-soldering equipment.

    Provide technical leadership and troubleshoot the component level on both through-hole and surface mount assemblies.

    Remove and place through-hole and surface mount components to IPC standards.

    Responsible for general lab organization, including ensuring equipment stays on its calibration schedule.

    Organize and conduct pcba, cable, system assembly verification testing.

    Create pcb components within Altium.

    Use design software (Creo Schematic) to help create wire harness assemblies.

    Maintain component lifecycle within Altium library.

    Ability to conduct EMC/EMI testing.

    Build prototype wire harness.

  • Qualifications


    Two-year technical degree in Electronics or 4 years of experience in a related field preferred.

    COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    Altium or other ECAD software experience preferred

    Creo Schematic experience preferred.

    Knowledge of wire harness and pcba fabrication.

    General problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

    Ability to use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, soldering and de-soldering equipment.

    Ability to read and interpret assembly bills of materials, drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronic units required.

    Basic computer skills required.
