Our exciting medtech partner is building the future of medical robotics with their next-generation robotic platform that targets early diagnosis and treatment of patients across multiple indications. They are looking for talented medtech professionals with the vision and the desire to make an impact in the industry with disruptive and exciting technology.  The Mechanical Engineer will develop various modules of revolutionary robotic platforms.  Projects include development of an advanced robotic endoscopic system, custom user interface, patient side cart system, hydraulic systems, electro-mechanical positioning modules, optics modules, fluidics modules, actuator modules, sensor modules, etc.  This position will have the opportunity to take the projects from concepts through development and launch, working with a highly talented cross functional team of Electrical, Software, Optics and Clinical engineers.

The Right Talent:

BS/MS/PhD degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.

0-7 years of experience with design of complex electromechanical systems.

Advanced SolidWorks skills.

A demonstrable product development track record as an individual contributor or technical lead.

Good understanding of fundamental concepts such as free body analysis, friction, inertia, mechanisms, bearings, gears and structures.

Good understanding in at least one or more of the following domains – servo motors and actuators, welded frames and mechanical structures, precision machined components, fluidics, sheet metal design, or injection molded and thermoformed plastics.

Basic FEA skills using Solidworks or Simscale.

Demonstrated ability to generate original ideas as evident by projects or patents.

Able to work collaboratively in a fast paced start-up environment with minimal supervision.

General understanding of medical device development process and design control.

Experience with risk analysis, risk mitigation and dFMEA practices.


This role requires occasional travel (approximately 3 times monthly) to west coast locations.
